Using AI and Passive Data to Enhance Digital Assessment and Treatment of Mental Health

Dr. Nick Jacobson is an Assistant Professor in the Departments of Biomedical Data Science, Psychiatry, and Computer Science at Dartmouth College’s Geisel School of Medicine. He serves as the Director of the Treatment Development and Evaluation Core within the Center for Technology and Behavioral Health at Dartmouth. Additionally, Dr. Jacobson leads the AI and Mental Health: Innovation in Technology Guided Healthcare (AIM HIGH) Laboratory.

Dr. Jacobson’s research interests lie in leveraging technology to enhance the assessment and treatment of anxiety and depression. His work primarily focuses on utilizing passive sensor data from smartphones and wearable devices to improve precision assessment. Furthermore, he explores the use of generative AI to provide transdiagnostic app-based treatment for mental health conditions. Dr. Jacobson has an extensive publication record, with over 100 peer-reviewed articles to his name.
